I should be able to pick up the frequency of posting sooner or later, but I really ought to remove the "probably Wednesday thing, since I've yet to actually update near that day.
Beyond the new writing commitments I've made, I've also decided to move, and it's taking money and time to get it done.
I've moved into 0.0 for a while at least, and joined up with some old friends in a new corp. Obsidian Operations. It's got a fair number of old Bastards as members, and is led by Jedziah. I'm going to have some fun.
How's things going for me? I'm apparently taking a break from playing for a bit. I got bored as hell ratting up my sec status, but I know it has to be done. So I'm just waiting till I get the urge to get back to playing so I can kill it with boredom again.
I had originally intended to do factional warfare after I could enter 1.0 space again, but I don't think that was meant to be. I had sincerely looked forward to winning back some territory for the Gallente Federation, but apparently if you can't be on after downtime you're wasting your time. That leaves me with missioning as a goal right now, though not a very interesting one.
I'm sure you've heard from everywhere that the blog community is exploding right now. I'm trying to stay on the edge of it all. I put up an advertisement over at "Poglogs" in exchange for an ad here. There's alot of content out there for you to see, and I hope to bring you back here time after time.
Lets do some links(has anyone figured out by now that I only link people who're linking or talking about me? I hope it makes up for my almost never commenting on other people's blogs.):
Traffic has settled down for a bit, which isn't so bad, just harder to tell how well I'm improving this month since last month had such a surge.
If you're reading and not following the blog, I ask you to follow on the right there.
After testing the waters a bit, I settled on a questionnaire for my interviews. There are 40 CSM candidates and I just didn't have time to sit down with each one. Apologies for not being able to press them for answers on a couple of issues, but I can do what I can do.
For the next couple of weeks I'll probably put most of my normal content on hold starting tomorrow with Vuk Lau's interview and going until I run out of CSM interviews. Should be informative. Expect a normal post every once in a while of course.
Everything's going great. I've had to make a few adjustments but I can still pirate and not have horrible lag.
Added tags to last month's posts and I believe that's how I'll do it from now on.
Last month I posted a guide to the new scan probing system and got to 629 peak visits from a previous all time peak of 110. Apparently I need to do more of that. Look to see more guides out of me, if for nothing else than the traffic.
I'm still taking suggestions for interview questions for the CSM candidates.
And if you enjoy the blog, be sure to follow it on the right hand side there. If you don't have a blogger account, that's fine. If you do though, go ahead and take a second to follow it.
You say you want a revolution, Well, you know, We all want to change the world, You tell me that it's evolution, Well, you know, We all want to change the world, But when you talk about destruction, Don't you know that you can count me out, Don't you know it's gonna be all right. Beatles - Revolution
Alrighty then.
First order on the agenda: Apologies for another failed short story, but my inspiration for Killswitch ran out of steam the moment I left Venal, and despite my best efforts I cannot produce anything of quality to post on it. The story is, like The Measure, on indefinite hiatus.
Next up: I've been working on changing my format a bit. The blog started primarily as an in charactor battle description log of sorts for my charactor. Truth be told, that was a bit short sighted, as eventually you run out of interesting ways to describe battles. Add to that the fact that analysis posts and the comedy stuff I do get me WAY more traffic, and you'll see less battle reports and more other stuff. This is not to say that I won't periodically post battle reports in charactor, just alot less often.
Been walking my mind to an easy time, My back turned towards the sun, Lord knows when the cold wind blows it'll turn your head around, Well, there's hours of time on the telephone line, To talk about things to come, Sweet dreams and flying machines in pieces on the ground. James Taylor - Fire and Rain
Thinking I need a consistent name for these informational updates, so there you go. Creative, I know.
Lets start with the latest showing by the Bastards in the alliance tournament.
As you can see, a severe case of rock, paper, scissors. Rock doesn't beat paper apparently. With that loss, we're out of the tourney, but I think the Bastards did a wonderful job and have got a bit of experience under their belts for next year. Be afraid.
Next up? I made it into the blog pack. That's a collection of blogs that meet a certain criteria of quality and updates. If you look under the "I Recommend" links, there's a new section called "Eve Blog Pack" that'll keep you updated.
Which probably brings you to wonder about the "I Recommend" bit. I changed the link listing up a bit and included on it are all of the blogs I personally read on a regular basis. The criteria for "me reading it" is this: It's primarily eve based, it's good, and I like it. I remove any blog that takes more than two weeks to update. It'll show the last update time, and give you the name of the latest update. I think the list is a good one. It's how I navigate blogs really, just load up my own and check for updates there. It's how you can do it too. Come here. Heh.
I'm back at work as well, so my time to blog and play are going to be a bit less. I don't think I'll break from my every two days average, but it's possible.
On the horizon, but far enough off that I'm not sticking myself into a corner, I plan to get a directional scanning guide done. I also have a podcast concept that's been banging around in my head for a couple of months. I'm getting to the point where I think I'll just make due with a sub-par microphone and do it anyhow.
Oh, and Killswitch will be continuing on, despite my vacating Guristas space ingame. I've got enough information to continue a story. Still annoyed I didn't get my faction higher. You can keep up with that story on the right, between the followers and the blog archive.
One last thing, follow this blog. If you read this regularly let me know by clicking the follow button. It'll put me in a good mood, I promise.
